Inchgarth Community Centre

Inchgarth community centre in the ‘Granite City’ of Aberdeen is the city’s biggest, busiest and most successful centre of its kind. Inchgarth has been a non-stop hub for the local community and has been recognised by her Majesty the Queen via the Queens Award for Voluntary Service with an MBE.

Mother of tennis superstar Sir Andy Murray, Judy Murray wanted to do something tangible to assist the centre. Eighteen months ago, she delivered a large coaching session for fifty adults and forty children to introduce them to tennis.

Working with ‘Tennis on The Road’, Judy Murray remembered Inchgarth and offered the centre an amount of PowerGame™ outdoor modular sports flooring from Sport Court® which had been originally donated by international flooring specialists Gerflor to Judy Murray to further her tennis initiatives.

The community is loving this tremendous PowerGame sports flooring. It’s been used daily, not just by the children, but also families taking their little ones to the centre. It’s given us a fabulous platform to introduce people to tennis where they can then progress to our free outdoor courts.
